Further Information
I am a specialist consultant dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon. I have worked and trained in the UK and Western Australia in dermatology and plastic surgery before undertaking my specialist dermatology training in the Southwest of England. Following this I completed a 12 month accredited* fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and lasers at the eminent Victoria Royal Infirmary, Newcastle upon Tyne. I personally undertook over 500 primary Mohs surgeon skin cancer removals, in addition to over 500 surgical reconstructions. Over 60% of the cancers treated were considered complex and I am well versed in complex Mohs reconstruction having personally completed approaching 300 surgical flap and graft repairs for those patients in that year alone. I pride myself in my surgical technique and once the cancer has been fully removed will strive for the neatest surgical scar possible, reflecting the defect size and the reconstructive approach we decide together upon.
I am motivated to provide the best care and surgical outcomes for patients and regularly attend and present at meetings and conferences. I have developed a portfolio of accolades including dermatology original articles, national and international presentations, national prizes and awards, and teaching & clinical governance achievements. Apart from the comprehensive management skin cancers, my other interests include cosmetic dermatology, laser dermatology, teldermatology, and general dermatology. Non clinical interests include clinical academia, sustainability in dermatology, and medical education (including patient education). I have authored over 25 scientific articles, contributed to 3 book chapters and given over 20 international and national presentations.
Outside of work, Will enjoys spending precious time with his Wife, two Daughters and dogs. He also is also training to be a pilot and enjoys other activities such as mountain biking, tramping and trail running.
