Dr Bob CY Chan is a consultant dermatologist and Mohs micrographic surgeon, with a broad interest in all areas of dermatology.
Dr Chan graduated from The University of Auckland School of Medicine and undertook his specialist dermatology training at Auckland, Middlemore and Christchurch Hospitals. He was awarded the Sir Harcourt Caughey Award research scholarship by the Auckland Medical Research Foundation to complete 2-years of fellowship training at the prestigious St John’s Institute of Dermatology in London, the largest dermatology department in the UK. At St John’s, he trained under some of the UK’s leading dermatologists in various dedicated tertiary subspecialty clinics; conducted research in the field of cutaneous lymphoma; and completed a 1-year subspecialty Mohs micrographic surgery and laser fellowship, accredited by the British Association of Dermatologists.
Dr Chan worked as a locum consultant dermatologist in Mohs surgery and laser surgery at St John’s Institute of Dermatology before returning to New Zealand.
Dr Chan has a current public appointment as a consultant dermatologist with the Auckland District Health Board providing services in general dermatology and Mohs micrographic surgery. His private practice is based at the Auckland Skin and Cancer Foundation.
